Hyderabad’s school kids will celebrate Diwali and Children’s Day differently. For the first time, these two celebrations have coincided, and realising this, the C h i l d r e n ’ s Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Children’s Film Society, India have come together to host the 12th International Children’s Film Festival, India.

hyderabad's school kids will celebrate diwali and children's day differently. for the first time, these two celebrations have coincided, and realising this, the c h i l d r e n ' s welfare department, government of andhra pradesh and the children's film society, india have come together to host the 12th international children's film festival, india. the festival will begin with a march past by 350 school kids from over 20 schools in hyderabad and the neighbouring ranga reddy district. the chief minister and the delegates to the festival will then be welcomed in the traditional way, and after a prayer song, inaugural speeches will be made, including one by niharika pannala, student of gitanjali school, hyderabad. dignitaries at the function will include sai paranjpe, chairperson, children's filmsociety . in the evening, a one-hour-long cultural programme will precede the screening of the inaugural film. school kids from 10 different schools will be performing on stage everyday during this weeklong festival.
